Rock Climbing 101

When: Thursday January 19th, 4:00pm-5:00pm

Where: CREC Climbing Center, 3rd Floor

Description:

Explore the Climbing Center! Staff will instruct on the fundamentals of climbing and get you stoked to climb more. No previous experience necessary but you must complete the Climbing Center orientation video and quiz at the Member Services desk before climbing. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early or dropping by Member Services earlier in the week to complete these tasks.

Inclusive Rec Wheelchair Basketball

When: Monday January 23rd, 2:00pm-4:00pm

Where: CREC Mac Court (ASRC Court 1)

Description:

Everyone is welcome to come out and try playing wheelchair basketball. We will provide the equipment and the staff to show you how it works; this is your chance to hop in a sportchair for the first time to learn some new and fun skills!

GroupX Foundation Training
When: Thursday February 2nd, 12:15pm-1:00pm
Where: Campus Rec Small Multipurpose Room (ASRC 450)
Description:
Foundation Training is a simple solution that gives you the means to change the way you move and correct the imbalances caused by our modern habits. Well suited for the seasoned athlete or anyone new to fitness, this training program puts you on the path to health, wellness, and vitality. Come join our class where you'll learn 15 positions that establish the basis of Foundation Training and will create a more functional and stronger posterior chain. In addition to performing everyday activities of reaching and bending, a strong posterior chain helps us enjoy activities we have a passion for including running, walking, swimming, golf, gardening, hiking, soccer, cycling, basketball and much more.

GroupX Lift Strong
When: Monday February 6th, 1:15pm-2pm
Where: Campus Rec Multipurpose Room (ASRC 440/441)
Description:
Feel the burn! This class uses free weights, body bars and more to work every major muscle group in the body- so your muscles leave feeling defined and you feeling pumped! Instruction and participation focus is on correct lifting techniques, with the use of light to moderate weights and higher repetitions.

Intramural Basketball Skills Night
When: Wednesday February 15th, 7:00pm-9:00pm
Where: CREC Mac Court (ASRC Court 1)
Description:
This is a free event that anyone interested can come drop in on. Just come to the courts during the event you want to participate in and bring your PSU ID and we'll get you set up. Specific event times are as follows:

  • 7:00pm: Free Throw Shooting

  • 7:30pm: 3-point Shooting

  • 8:15pm: Dunk Contest


GroupX Hatha Yoga
When: Thursday February 23rd, 12:00pm-1:00pm

Where: Campus Rec Multipurpose Room (ASRC 440/441)
Description:
This is a beginner-friendly, yet challenging and active class that uses yoga asanas, breath, and alignment to bring awareness to the body & mind. The class is a different experience each time using class input to help reach practice goals for the day. The instructor will also provide options for all levels throughout class.
